DIGITAL 2000 Legal Advisor, wins one in the SUPREME COURT

Ilise Feitshans, Legal Advisor and sometimes on camera talent for Digital 2000, Inc., has won a decisive victory in the Supreme Court, stating parents of disabled children contend that it is expensive and often difficult to find lawyers who will take such cases.

It’s called the Winkelman case, as The Winkelmans, parents of an autistic son, said they could not afford an attorney to continue their dispute with the school board over its decision that Jacob's autistic needs could be met in a public school.  Federal courts generally allow individuals to represent themselves -- but not others -- without the aid of a lawyer.  Ilise and others argued that parents should have the right to sue school districts to obtain their rights under the Disability Act and other laws, without the expense of an attorney.  Ilise helped create the many videos we have produced in childcare, including Autism, Dyslexia, Williams Syndrome, ADD/HD and others.
